You may have heard by now that DC has unceremoniously removed Gail Simone as writer of Batgirl. If DC is trying to get me to feel better about the idea of buying their comics, they're not doing a very good job of it.
I don't know what DC was thinking. It was selling okay. What, did too many people like it?
Actually, I'd believe that.
Actually it wouldn't surprise me if too many of the wrong kind of people liked it, i.e. old-timer fans like me who are increasingly disenchanted with the New 52 and long for what we lost, or just simply good stories with some semblance of consistency.
ReplyDeleteAah, well. Here's the thing. Anytime it looks like some trend can't help but continue forever, that's just when it's ready to go through some kind of radical change. This is good news for, say, DC comics fans and for the Republican Party.
ReplyDeleteI really think DC is aiming for a relaunch of Secret Six which Ms. Gail Simone will be writer of. Anything with Bane would be really cool.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be shocked if it happened. But, you know, she's used to writing more than one book at a time.
ReplyDeleteThis was a lovely bblog post
