A while ago I was flipping through the archives and came across a comic book with some familiar names in the credits. The following panels are from a story that was both written by and penciled by creators who have also written/drawn the Legion. Anybody know who?

I'm very curious about the answer but I haven't enough of a clue to even make a guess.
I'll give it a little longer.
I don't know, but I'm going to be kicking myself when the artist's name is mentioned, I just know it. That style - especially the left panel - is familiar, but I can't put a name to it...
I don't think you're going to be kicking yourself. I predict your reaction will be more along the lines of, "Oh. Really? Huh."
Chris Sprouse and the Bierbaum's?
Neither of those.
Okay, here's the answer: the story is from Love in Tights #1, published by Slave Labor Graphics. Written by J. Torres (who has done several issues of LSH31C) and penciled by Francis Manapul, his first published work; I think he was in his teens at the time.
